Roland Snooks Lecture: The Making of the Composite Wing

Roland Snooks is the designer and architect behind Studio Roland Snooks, the team that has created the exhibition infrastructure currently on display as part of The Future is Here at RMIT Design Hub. In this lecture he will give insight into his practice and the making of the Composite Wing for The Future is Here exhibition.

The composite fibre surface that forms the main installation in Project Room 1 at RMIT Design Hub compresses surface, structure and ornament into an intricateand complex assemblage. The project is an extension and amalgamation of threestrands of research— algorithmic design, robotic fabrication and composite fibre materials— that are being undertaken by Studio Roland Snooks.
