2015 ATW Tapestry Design Prize for Architects
Calling all architects and architecture students!
The Australian Tapestry Workshop and the Tapestry Foundation of Australia, in partnership with Architecture Media and Denton Corker Marshall, have announced the inaugural 2015 ATP Tapestry Prize for Architects.
The prize invites architects to use their skills to create a tapestry design for a specific location. This year the site is the new Australian Pavilion at the Venice Giardini designed by Denton Corker Marshall.
Australian Tapestry Workshop Chairman Peter Williams hopes to see architects embrace this competition as a chance to explore and deepen their understanding of the longstanding relationship between textile art and architectural space.
The competition is an opportunity to be judged by an panel of design experts including RMIT's Prof Leon van Schaik AO, John Gollings, Prof Kay Lawrence AM, Brian Zulaikha, Hanna Tribe and Jason Smith.
