RMIT ARCHITECTURE EXHIBITIONS

Emily Davies, Fourth Wall, or The Library for the Library, Semester 2 2017

RMIT Architecture is interested in ideas-led, venturous, design experimentation and exploration – aspiring to contribute to the future of the discipline. The school focuses on the realisation of innovative practices, with deep ties to a contemporary global context. With a primary focus on design, RMIT Architecture has an international reputation for practice-led research.

Student work is celebrated at all program levels through end of semester exhibitions that span the Bachelor of Architectural Design, Master of Architecture and Master of Urban Design programs:

The RMIT Master of Architecture degree culminates in a final semester design project through which students are able to reflect upon, consolidate and extend the knowledge they have gained during the program. Students set their own design research questions and parameters in consultation with an individual supervisor, opening up future practice and research trajectories.

Opening Hours:
12 – 5pm, Saturday 23 June
10am – 5pm, Tuesday 26 – Friday 29 June

Bachelor of Architectural Design»

First Year Foundation Design Studio
Level 2, Project Room 2

The First Year Foundation Semester experience is focused through Design & Communication and supported by Technology and History. Design & Communications is delivered through three curated studio streams: ATLAS led by Dr Michael Spooner, CODEX led by Vicky Lam and ALGORIST led by Caitlyn Parry. The students are directed into studio groups, which they remain in whilst successively experiencing each design stream over three 4-6 week periods across the semester.

The Lyon Housemuseum, which uniquely integrates a domestic residence and art museum, provides the common ground for the collective experience of the three very different design streams.

Opening Hours:
12 – 5pm, Saturday 23 June
10am – 5pm, Tuesday 26 – Friday 29 June

Design Studios»
Bachelor of Architectural Design, Master of Architecture and Master of Urban Design
